Service FAQ

“Staying with friends” is our guiding principle – and we truly mean it

Every day, we live up to your expectations of organic quality, aesthetics and attentive service. We take care of you, while always respecting the right amount of personal space – exactly to the extent you prefer. And we appreciate guests who, in turn, treat our home with the same consideration they would show among friends.

On each floor, you will find a service station offering alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, snacks and sweets. Crockery, glasses and cutlery are also available here. Please help yourself – payment is based on trust and can be made directly into the box provided or settled at check-out.

On the ground floor, we offer one wheelchair-accessible room. Doors and the washbasin are designed to accommodate wheelchair users comfortably.

Enjoy a comfortable standard of amenities in all bathrooms, including a shower, WC, washbasin, large mirror, illuminated vanity mirror, soap dispenser, hairdryer, tumbler and cosmetic tissues. Our Comfort Rooms, Suites and Apartments also feature a heated towel rail.

Visually, too, our bathrooms are – in our view – particularly attractive, combining functionality with a pleasing, contemporary design.

For €24, we treat you to a generous breakfast buffet featuring carefully selected organic specialities, predominantly sourced from regional producers. Breakfast is free for children up to four years of age; children aged four to ten enjoy breakfast for €14.

Some of our jams and spreads are homemade, and we also smoke our own cheese and wild game ham. A wide selection of breads and rolls (including wholegrain and sourdough), fresh butter, egg dishes, cheeses, cold cuts and vegan antipasti ensures there is something to satisfy every taste.

We are happy to accommodate individual food intolerances with advance notice. Vegetarian and vegan options are usually plentiful at the buffet, but a brief note in advance helps our kitchen plan accordingly.

Breakfast times:

Weekdays: 7:00 am – 10:00 am

Weekends & public holidays: 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Check-in from 2:00 pm
To ensure a smooth arrival, you will receive a personal access code from us when you make your booking. Our entrance is located in the inner courtyard. On the right-hand side of the building façade, you will find a keypad – entering your access code will open the front door automatically.

Your room key card will be waiting for you at reception, labelled with your name. The card opens both your room door and the main entrance when you hold it against the keypad at the entrance.

Should you experience any difficulties: the doorbell and our telephone are forwarded to a mobile phone when reception is unattended. We are therefore available to you 24 hours a day.

Check-out by 11:00 am
Later check-out times are possible by prior arrangement.

You are very welcome to travel with your dog. For dog owners, we have seven designated rooms equipped with a dog blanket, two bowls and a small welcome treat (available in the Comfort Room, Family Comfort Room, Apartment categories and the Suite “Emerald Yellow”).

We do not charge any additional fee for dogs, but kindly ask for advance notice. All other rooms remain dog-free for guests with allergies. Out of consideration for other guests, please note two simple rules: dogs are not allowed on the bed and may not accompany you to breakfast.

Many guests find the ringing of the church bells in Stein charming and romantic. However, if you are particularly sensitive to noise, we are happy to provide earplugs on request. All of our rooms are fitted with soundproof windows.

Young children stay with us free of charge – we are also happy to provide a complimentary travel cot. Children sleeping in their parents’ bed are likewise accommodated free of charge. In the breakfast room, a toy box is available for our younger guests.

While we do not have dedicated “family rooms”, we offer a wide range of family-friendly options across four room categories:

Family Comfort Room: double bed and sofa, convertible into a sofa bed (90 × 200 cm), suitable for up to three guests

Junior Suite: double bed and sofa, convertible into a sofa bed (140 × 200 cm), suitable for up to four guests

Suite: separate bedroom and living room with double bed and sofa, convertible into a sofa bed (140 × 200 cm), suitable for up to four guests

Apartment: two separate bedrooms with two double beds, suitable for up to four guests

Family holiday tip: We are delighted about the wonderful feature by Little Travel Society, an editorial online platform dedicated to child-friendly hotels.

All rooms are furnished with solid beech wood furniture. A desk is available for light office work, and a luggage rack makes packing and unpacking easier. A coffee and tea maker allows you to prepare complimentary hot drinks at any time.

Environmental protection is more than just a word for us. That is why we clean your room every third day during your stay. Our “GREEN & CLEAN” concept makes an important contribution to conserving resources and protecting the environment. Thank you for supporting us in this approach.

Would you like an additional towel change or interim cleaning? Simply let reception know – we will be happy to take care of it.

Whether groceries or fashion – shopping in the town of Stein is a pleasure. Take a stroll through the approximately 30 shops at the FORUM Stein shopping centre, or stock up on high-quality writing instruments as well as artists’, school and office supplies at the Faber-Castell Factory Outlet. Organic products are available, among other places, at ebl-Naturkost.

Did you know? Stein is a Fairtrade Town, meaning you will find a wide range of fairly traded products in and around the town.

Even if you are travelling alone, you will always sleep in a double bed with us. All beds are fitted with comfortable cold foam mattresses that offer excellent support while adapting to your body shape and sleeping position. Our bed linen is made from organic cotton and produced under Fairtrade conditions.

A special highlight: in our Junior Suites, Suites and Apartments, you sleep under duvets filled with soft alpaca wool. If you have allergies, please ask for our special synthetic allergy-friendly duvets.

From the Junior Suite category upwards, we also offer a “pillow menu”: your bed will already be prepared with a full-size pillow, a half-size pillow and a small comfort pillow. On request, we are also happy to provide a millet or spelt pillow.

We are a non-smoking hotel. We therefore kindly ask you to respect the smoking ban throughout the entire building. Guests who wish to smoke may use the balcony or terrace, where ashtrays are provided.

Each bedroom is equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV offering a selection of around 100 channels.

More than half of our rooms feature a balcony or terrace. On request, we are happy to reserve one of these rooms for you, subject to availability.

KUNSTQUARTIER is vegan-friendly. At our generous breakfast buffet and in the tapas bar run by Blanca Gutiérrez Bartolomé, we cater equally well for lovers of meat and fish as well as for vegetarian and vegan guests.

Our check-in process is usually contactless. Using your personal access code, you can enter the hotel at any time. Just behind the entrance, you will find your room keys prepared for you at reception and clearly labelled with your name.

You are also welcome to help yourself to fresh fruit at any time in the breakfast room. Guests staying in a Junior Suite, Suite or Apartment will additionally receive a welcome gift of one bottle of water and one bottle of red wine.
