Reason why
The imposing grounds still evoke the megalomania of the Nazi regime. In 1933, Hitler declared Nuremberg the “City of the Reich Party Congresses,” and from 1935 to 1937, the Zeppelin Field was transformed into a parade ground based on a design by Albert Speer—one of the most famous examples of National Socialist monumental architecture. The Zeppelin Grandstand, erected on the northeastern side of the field, is the dominant backdrop and the only completed structure on the Reich Party Congress Grounds. The majority of the intended construction projects remained unfinished.
Location: Beuthener Straße, 90471 Nürnberg
